FIFTH-GRADE SUBJECT GUIDE

÷

Math

Math is where we notice patterns, solve meaningful problems, and explain our thinking.

This year our curriculum is very heavily focused on fractions. Over half of the EOG will be assessing the students knowledge of fractions including adding & subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, multiplying, dividing and working with mixed and improper fractions.

In addition to fractions, other topics we explore include graphing, multi-digit multiplication and division with whole numbers and decimals, converting between metric and standard units, and classifying quadrilaterals.
